Orochimaru has shown some changes throughout the Naruto series. While he was initially portrayed as a villain obsessed with achieving immortality at any cost, he has displayed moments of redemption and growth. Orochimaru has shown a willingness to work with others for the greater good, such as helping in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Instead, he has been a major antagonist in the Naruto series, constantly seeking power and immortality through unethical means. **
